Do you realize if you saved just $100 per month in coupon and refund savings, in 30 years, you could have an extra $349,496.41 for retirement?! (compounded annually at 12%) Ok, well, maybe not in today's economy, but hey, if you saved $100 a month using coupons and submitting refunds, without investing it, you'd have $1200 at the end of the year!  If nothing else, it's a great holiday fund!

Here are a few incredible deals!

In the last few months, we've had an amazing amount of deals.  Most were Catalina deals!  A Catalina Coupon is a checkout coupon.  After you've purchased your items, a coupon will print out of a separate printer (separate from your receipt) for a free product, a certain amount of money off your next order, movie tickets, or whatever other promotion is currently going on!

SOLO plates is a great example of this!  Solo plates were on sale for $2.50 each.  In the Sunday newspaper, there was a coupon good for $2 off solo plates.  There was also a Catalina deal:  For every four plates I purchased, I'd receive a Catalina coupon for $4 off my next shopping trip.  This $4 could be used on anything, with the usual exceptions of tobacco, alcohol, etc.

I buy four plates at $2.50 each.  My total is $10 before tax.

I use four $2 coupon taking off $8, so my total is now $2.

After tax, I paid $2.75 for every four plates.  BUT, I received a coupon for $4 off my next shopping trip!  I PROFITED $1.25 for every four packages of plates!

An example of a great deal just using coupons is a current deal!  Our local grocery store has band-aids on sale for $1.  There are recent $1 coupons, so you only pay tax!  A few cents for a package of band-aids, especially in a household with three small children is a goldmine! ::grin::

Two years ago, a department store & a health & beauty manufacturer collaborated and offered a $5 Kmart gift card when the consumer purchased any three Pfizer products. Halls is a Pfizer product, and each bag regularly sells for 99¢. For every three bags of Halls I purchased, my out of pocket expense was approximately $3. But, I earned a $5 Kmart gift card with each purchase of three bags of halls.

So, for every three bags of halls I bought, I received my purchase price back of $3, plus an additional $2 profit! This was an unlimited deal, and when it was all over, I had received more than 60 bags of halls for free, and a $40 profit!

There are soooo many amazing deals.  This is one of my favorite hobbies.  It allows me to stockpile items my family uses all the time, it allows me to help supply our local shelters, and it allows me to have items on hand that friends and extended family members may need.  With our current economy, our outrageous gas prices, and our concern over raising costs, using coupons is a huge blessing!
